Really, I'm a hunter!

I had these Legs from the pre-Wrath event, but I stopped playing around then and never completed the set. I've been staring at them in the bank for a while and almost deleted them thinking I'd never be able to put anything together with it.

Well, here's what I finally came up with. Can you do better? I'd love to see other ideas.

Shoulders: Mantle of the Tireless Tracker
Chest: Vest of Living Lightning
Waist: Primalist's Linked Waistguard
Legs: Blessed Greaves of Undead Slaying
Feet: Tsunami Boots
Gloves: Brazen Gauntlets
Ranged: Shattered Tortoiseshell Longbow

Isayni Dings 90

Leveling to 90 on the DK was really much easier than I remember on the Hunter, Monk, Priest or Mage. I leveled her while in Blood spec the entire time. I know this probably wasn't the best way to quickly kill all the things that needed to die, but I liked how it kept me alive :)

Isayni didn't complete a single zone anywhere. I sometimes miss having to work my way through entire zones and I know there is quite a bit out there that I still haven't seen. One of these days I should start a toon and do every quest in every zone she is sent to, no matter what level she is when she gets there.

Anyway.. Here is Isayni as she looked in Dread Wastes when she dinged:

These are all quest rewards from the zone except for the mace, Torch of the Damned from Black Temple.

Now that she's 90, instead of the usual dungeons and stuff, I have to take her to Barrens.

The Barrens world event will end 8/27/13. The entire set she could get there would be great, but I don't have the time needed to get it. I'm not worried, it's the same look as items she can still get when Barrens ends - EXCEPT for the boots.

The set from the Barrens is called Insubordination. It's the same as the Saronite War Battleplate (recolor) set except that Blizzard never gave us matching boots for the Saronite set. So when Barrens goes away, so will my only chance at the boots for one of the few sets I really like on my DK.

Another reason she needs to go to barrens is to farm 500 Lumber for Griftah's Authentic Troll Shoes. If you are either a Warrior or Death Knight Draenei, you need these shoes. I may have mentioned it before, I can't remember, but I'm gonna say it again - as a Draenei plate-wearer, you have only 5 boots that are "invisible". Two of those boots are Paladin only. One comes from Ruby Sanctum which is a place I've just kind of written off as "never gonna happen". The other two are from ICC, but in the once-a-month way our guild goes there, I'm not the only plate wearer. Farming 500 Lumber sounds easier/quicker than hoping for an ICC run, hoping that one of the boots drop, and then hoping that I win them. RNG = really never getting.

To top off the joy of Barrens farming, I need to do PvP stuffz. I dislike PvP. GREATLY. But as the Barrens World Event ends, so does PvP Season 13. This means that I won't be able to get the ONE HELM that I want on my DK, The Malevolent Gladiator's Dreadplate Helm. This spiffy helm will cost 2250 Honor Points of which I currently have zero. Can I get 2250 HP before 8/27 when I really don't play every day?

I have my list in three groups; "soloable", "haven't tried to solo", and "need raid".

Consider them forgotten.

This is just a cut-and-paste of my actual wish list. The places in bold are what I'd like most right now for transmog. Pets are always a bonus, but I play World of Dressupcraft, not Pokewow ;)

For Python!

I'd like to think that I come up with creative names. The truth is, is that when I think up names I like, I tend to use them over and over.. which keeps me from thinking up new creative names. I noticed this when reviewing all of the toons that I've ever created in WoW (and in other games). Thankfully, we have a 50 character limit (I think) per account, so I can't put a Barlafumble on every server (which.. I wish I could.. cuz it's MY name dangit!).

Isayni has always been a favorite name of mine because I think it's pretty creative (pats self on back). Monty Python was a huge influence as I grew up (which explains A LOT). I-Say-Ni as in the Knights who say Ni. And she's a Death Knight. Get it?!

 http://us.battle.net/static-render/us/llane/224/90909664-profilemain.jpg?alt=/wow/static/images/2d/profilemain/class/6-1.jpg

I envision my DK as always being in something dark. There will be no shiny gold on this chick. EVER. Starre gave me this really nice-looking breastplate and I will be working on a mog around it. Isayni is still questing and leveling and doesn't have a lot of gear yet, but she's keeping her eyes open!

Wrist: not shown

WTB invisible plate boots.
Yay! for invisible plate belt!

Northrend Spellweave Regalia

I've spent a few days working on a mog for Neq and when I finally finished.. I didn't like it. So she's back in what I think is my favorite cloth set (minus the gloves - not a fan of the bulky glove look).

The gloves, bracers and offhand.. meh. I'll work on it. The Mallet isn't a perfect match but it's the Mallet of Zul'Farrak! I worked really hard for that Mallet! I had to fight my way to the top of a huge temple and then fight some more for just a piece of it. Then I had to fight my way through an entire troll city to make the Mallet. AND THEN I had to go to an entirely different continent, fight my way though another troll city and use it to summon giant three-headed lizard. Which I had to kill... for a 3% mount speed increase. 3%!

Totally worth it.

Another Monk Mog

I'm not super happy with the shoulders, but the ones I have in mind she can't wear until she's 90. *sigh* Guess I'll have to level her this weekend.

I've seen this top on a lot of monks. I was helping out Nounours with a transmog and I suggested this top for her. I was so jealous that she had it.. and the next day I realized that I'd had the top in my bags for who knows how long!

Observant I am not.

Shoulders: Shoulderpads of the Adventurer
Chest: Leather Tunic of Eminent Domain
Wrists: Furblog Fur Bracers
Gloves: Infectis Puffer Gloves
Waist: Red Belt of Gentle Persuasion
Legs: Warbear Woolies
Boots: Ballast-Laden Footpads
Weapons: Lockjaw (dual wielded)

Monk Mog

You have 5 minutes to pull a mog together for a guild run to Firelands. You're a Monk with a 'tude and spiffy fashion sense. What do you do? What. Do. You. Do?!

Why, you raid your void and bank for anything monkish or orangish of course! And I was pretty happy overall and I blended right in as I lay dead kept the ground from attacking the others during the boss fights.

Shoulders: Misthide Shoulders of the Stormblast
Chest: Flamestrider Robes
Hands: Misthide Gloves of the Zephyr
Belt: Misthide Belt of the Windstorm
Legs: Holistic Patchwork Breeches
Weapons: Truncheon of Five Hells (dual wielded)

Drainee Dings 85

Barlafumble will always be my favorite. Really, I swear!

When Nequissime dinged 85 and started in the Jade Forest, she struggled. Neq died. A LOT. Neq still isn't 90 and only gets about 5 minutes of attention per day only because of the Imperial Silk cooldown.

Roowen was a little easier. Oh, she died (apparently I am not meant to be a clothie), but she was a little stronger than Neq and I actually made it to 90 as a mage.

And now there's Drainee, my Windwalker Monklet. OH. MY. GAWDS. I freaking LOVE HER. Drainee dinged 85 the other day:

Drainee is wearing the Eviscerator's Battlegear (no helm or boots) with an "invisible" pair of boots (Darkbrand Boots) and dual-wielding Fists of the Diety.

I probably won't mog her while she's leveling since she'll be switching gear from quest rewards.

Golden Lotus Exalted & More Mounts!

To say I've been slacking doing dailies is a bit of an understatement.. I flat out avoid them at all costs. Weird? Probably. Dailies give good gold and since I love getting mounts, why am I not doing them?! I could argue with myself all day...

I have a friend who rep grinds - it just amazes me the willpower (dedication?) that that woman has. Whatever it is, I just don't have it.

BUT.. mention in guild chat about killing anything and I'm there! The guild goes on Zandalari Warbringer hunts for a chance at the Reins of the Slate Primordial Direhorn that they drop. I'm sure there are other things that they drop just as useful or even better, but I'll I see/hear is "mount".

They also drop Insignias for Golden Lotus, Klaxxi, Shado Pan & August Celestial rep. I think it's just a trick to get me to do something vaguely daily-like, but it works! After a few kills, I hit exalted with Golden Lotus!

So... I get to kill things, skin them AND get reputation. I don't know what to say, I'm just speechless. More please?!

After we were done, I hopped over to the GL Quartermaster and picked up a few mounts:

And this put me at 100 mounts, so in the mail I got:

Mog? Pftttt.. Barla is still wearing what I posted last. I just am so in love with that outfit that it's not changed yet.

Instead I've mogged my priest. Smashly was clearing Naxx for a mog, invited me to tag along and I picked up a couple pieces (psssttt, Smashly! There's a tier helm that drops there, can we go back pretty please?):

Shoulders: Miasma Mantle
Chest: Gown of Blaumeux
Wrists: Grips of Chaos
Hands: Coldwraith Handwraps
Belt: Belt of Transcendence (I'm not really happy with this piece)

OOooo pretty!

I was very excited to put this one together - just pieces from a couple runs Starre and I did today - and it turned out really beautiful.

Shoulders: Coral-Barbed Shoulderpads
Chest: Vest of Mounting Assault
Gloves: Valorous Cryptstalker Handguards
Belt: Cinch of the World Shaman
Legs: Valorous Cryptstalker Legguards
Boots: Tsunami Boots
Bow:  Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas

Nefarian's sarcasm is so epic.

Spectacular Death ran Herioc Blackwing Descent the other day :) We didn't get to Nefarian/Onyxia, but we did get something even better:

Barlafumble, Slayer of Stupid, Incompetent and Disappointing Minions, the longest title in WoW, I believe. And the most epic! Sadly, it's only temporary, lasting 30 minutes or until death.

I haven't been able to get the full Giantstalker set. I had to cheat a little with the chest piece, but it turned out okay.
Shoulders: Giantstalker's Epaulets
Chest: Marauder's Tunic
Shirt: Bold Yellow Shirt
Gloves: Banded Gauntlets
Waist: Cinch of the World Shaman
Legs: Giantstalker's Leggings
Boots: Giantstalker's Boots
Bow: Black Bow of the Betrayer

Noblegarden

The last few holidays I've been quite the slacker - I didn't care to try for most of the achievements. Silly me, I didn't really pay attention to the Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake I'd get for completing several holiday achievements.

I have vowed to  complete all of the achievements for Noblegarden... and I did!! WOOOT! I am so happy and I never ever ever have to do this again.

Chest: Spring Dress
Shirt: Wound Dressing
Hat: Spring Circlet
Weapon: Spring Flowers

I like the way the spring dress looks with the wound dressing better than it did without it.

Here There Be Pirates

The other night we had a crazy-mog night and ran Blackwing Lair.

Nequissime was mogged as a pirate - I think I'll keep her like this for a while.

Head: First Mate Hat
Shoulders: Green Silken Shoulders
Chest: Crimson Silk Vest
Shirt: Red Swashbuckler's Shirt
Hands: Ebony Flame Gloves
Waist: Captain Sanders Sash
Legs: Coven Britches
Feet: Darktread Boots
Main hand: Tremendous Tankard of Terror
Off hand: Accountant's Lantern

I wanted the Corsair's Overshirt for this mog but couldn't get it.  Instead, I layered the Crimson Silk Vest (moggable but has short sleeves) and Swashbuckler's shirt (unmoggable but has long sleeves) since they have the same frontal design.

Here's the same look via the Wow Model Viewer and using the Corsair's Overshirt. The only difference in my final look vs the Corsair was the sleeves. I like the sleeves on the Corsair better, but overall I think it worked out pretty well.

Busy Busy Busy

Roowen hit 90, then the Thunder King patch hit, and then, and then, and then.... I could go on and on.

Roowen completed A Witness to History. This is a screenie of the cinematic of the Gate of the August Celestials when you first enter the Vale from Kun-Lai. Sadly it's all corrupted now and where we do our superfuntastic Golden Lotus dailies.

Roo's a... troll?!?! Right away I started working on scenarios to upgrade her ilvl and this was the first time I'd seen Dagger in the Dark. I've always had a secret crush on Vol'jin (sorry Thrall) and now we Alliance get to join in to help him out a little. I love how they kinda meshed the lore from the old Warcraft games here. He was a Shadow Hunter back then and when they brought Shamans into WoW (and made Vol'jin a Shaman) they gave them some of the Shadow Hunter abilities. In this scenario he uses some of the Shadow Hunter spells from Warcraft III.

Troll Week

Our guild had Troll Week all week in celebration of the Thunder King patch. We roamed a bunch of old troll content and I felt the need to mog into appropriate attire for the week. Now that I look back on it, it's really still more hunterish than trollish.

Shoulders: Pauldron's of Primal Fury
Chest: Val'kyr Vestments
Gloves: Grips of Chronological Events
Waist: Spiderlord Belt
Legs: Spiderlord Leggings
Feet: Softstep Boots of Tracking
Bow: Roc-Feather Longbow

Bone-r Night was one of our Troll Week events. A group of us headed over to the Isle of Giants for a few tours around the island to get some bones. Look at all the skeletons! When we first went out to the Isle of Giants, the boss Oondasta had over 800 million (!!!) health and took 4 or 5 40-man raids to kill. Because this caused the game to break (crashed/lagged servers), he's been changed to only about 400 million (!) and one really good 40-man raid can take him. The reason all these bodies are at the graveyard is because so far one of the best strategies is to pull him here for the fight.

I think only Gimm and I found Primal Eggs that day. You can only have one egg at a time and in three days, the egg hatches into one of three raptor mounts - Reins of the Black, Green or Red Primal Raptor. Gimms turned out to be Green while mine was Black. Here's the Black Primal Raptor mount alongside Elvis. They used the same skin as they did with the Ironhide Devilsaur.

We went back after our raptors hatched to try for more eggs. My second egg hatched into the Red Primal Raptor.

We also did some Isle of Thunder dailies as a group during Troll Week. I have to say I prefer dailies in groups rather than solo. This could be why my only exalted rep is Tillers (okay, I have Cloud Serpents exalted, too).

Ding Ding Ding!

Roowen hit 90 this afternoon - wooo! I took a quick snapshot of what she looked like when she dinged - lovely mis-matched quest rewards for the win!

Shoulders: Dreadspinner Amice
Chest: Mazu's Robe
Gloves: Dreadspinner Handguards
Waist: Angkhal Cord
Staff: Dissector's Staff of Mutation

So begins the post-90 grind...

Roowen hits 85!

Yay!! Roo finally gets to go back home to Pandaria.

Once she outgrew the heirloom items, I stopped transmogging her and she just wears the quest reward upgrades. So, yes.. she's been wearing dresses. *sigh* I hated how dresses looked on her, but now, now I think I must be used to them because I think she looks cute.

Here's Roo at her 85 dinging, everything she has on is from quests in Uldum, I think.

Shoulders: Vir'naal Spaulders
Chest: Robes of Khintaset
Hands: Keythief Handwraps
Waist: Girdle of the Rescuer
Feet: Incorporeal Sandals
Staff: Ihsenn's Staff of Terror

I thought I'd really hate how all the quest rewards seem to look the same, but it really helped - I know if she had something that clashed I wouldn't be able to keep myself from mogging her. Plus, it seems silly to keep mogging her as she levels and gets updated gear so frequently.

I will stop procrastinating... later

I'm so bummed and I have no one to blame but myself.

I want to collect all the battle pets, but I'm so bad at leveling that I procrastinated just a little too long and have missed my chance at the Snowy Owl in Winterspring.

This wild pet only spawns during the winter - and I just figured that since the easter/spring event hasn't happened yet that I had another week or so to get it. I figured wrong.

Last night I rushed out to Winterspring after our guild event with the hope of capturing this level 17-18 creature with my sad little team of level 16, 15 and 14. I flew into Everlook and saw a level 17 Anodized Robo Cub nearby - let's try my team against this, I thought!

I won! I couldn't believe it. I have no idea how that happened! I quickly switched him in for the level 14, healed everyone up and flew around Winterspring...

...for about 20 minutes. Then I whispered Doob from Warcraft Pets asking if I missed the owl. He confirmed my fear - he's been hearing the same, that the owls are gone for the year. Confirmation from a GM says that Azerothian winter is from November 1st through the last day of February.

*sigh* Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a better team by next November. I still need to level at least one battle pet to 25 so I can uncrate the Peddlefeet that Starre gave me for Valentine's day.

Dang it, Barla!!

My favorite hunter pet is Elvis, my Ironhide Devilsaur (okay, I have several favorites). I've been wanting to mog something to match him and this is what I've come up with:
Shoulders: Upstanding Spaulders
Chest: Renegade Chestguard
Waist: Necrogenic Belt
Gloves: Renegade Gauntlets
Legs: Renegade Leggings
Boots: Tsunami Boots
Gun: Consortium Blaster

Tonight, Spectacular Death is running Blackwing Descent! Fingers crossed that my Spaulders of the Scarred Lady drop (oh, and that I win them)!!

Thursday, March 7, 2013

another *meh* kinda mog

Shoulder: Pauldron's of the Thousand Needles
Chest: Moragg's Chestguard
Hands: Grips of Chronological Events
Waist: Girdle of the Prowler
Legs: Yaungol Slayer's Legguards
Boots: Tsunami Boots
Bow: Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas

This mog looked okay in the game, but now that I've taken a screenie, I can see a huge difference in color from the top/shoulders and the legs. I do love the legs, tho.. I'll have to work on that a bit more.

Still working on Sunwell trash for my Embrace of the Phoenix pattern. *sigh*

Thursday, February 21, 2013

hmm.. Why didn't I post this?

I totally forgot I took a screenshot of the Gorishi Grub I tamed a little while ago - get yours before 5.2 comes out and can no longer be tamed. I know there's another one out there that will go away as well, but I'm not sure I need to tame it, I think having one of them is just fine. Right?

The mog I was wearing was:
Demon Stalker Shoulderguards
Demon Stalker Harness
Grips of Chronological Events
Girdle of the Prowler
Demon Stalker Greaves
Boots of the Crimson Hawk
Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas

Monday, February 18, 2013

Untamed Hatchling... tamed!

Okay, maybe not tamed so much as he dropped from Razorgore tonight. Deathdriver was in Blackwing Lair and needed a second body for the first boss so I jumped in real quick to help out. Yay!

One of my favorite armor sets is the Merciless Gladiator's Chain Armor. I don't really like the gloves or boots, so I use Grips of Chronological Events, Tsunami Boots and the Belt of Tasseled Lanterns for a sleeker look. And one of the best looking guns ever, the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle.

No luck on Sunwell this weekend, but I did get Roowen to 75 finally. She pretty much looks the same since I've decided that I don't like Panda's in dresses and she's wearing heirloom pieces that have been mogged into cute greens.

Current Mog Project

Thanks to Wow Model Viewer, I can show you the mog that I've been working on for several months now. I have the bow... and that's it. The top is a pattern that drops from trash in Sunwell Plateau and I've been running that weekly.
Shoulders: Spaulders of the Scarred Lady or Lightning-Charged Spaulders
Chest: Embrace of the Phoenix
Belt: Vicious Gladiator's Links of Accuracy
Legs: Brutal Gladiator's Linked Leggings
Boots: Tsunami (every mogger should find a pair of "invisible" boots)
Gloves: Grips of Chronoligical Events
Bow: Golden Bow of Quel'Thalas

Tonight the guild ran Bastion of Twilight - I had never been there. (I have missed the entire Cataclysm expansion because I originally stopped playing wow a couple weeks after Wrath came out.) Anyway, the green version of these shoulders dropped as well as a green kilt. Since that's my favorite color, I'll be trying to do something with those in the next few days.

Sunwell tomorrow morning... *fingers crossed*

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Today was a productive day.

I spent way more time online today than I should have - I won't even admit how many hours.  BUT a lot was done and all of it SO MUCH FUN (thank-you Dor, Fortu & Starr)!

It started innocently enough with Sunwell - yes, I'd love the legendary drop there, but what I'm really after is the Embrace of the Phoenix pattern. Of course it didn't drop. There's always next week!

I'm not going to remember the order of the places we went, that's just not how I work :)

I finally finished my Dragonstalker's set! Yay!!!!! I'll leave this mogged for a little while - we'll see how long I can stand all the color.

Broodlord Lashlayer was so kind to die and drop this little guy - a Death Talon Whelpguard. I won him and Fortu won Chrominius.

We visited AQ40, Karazhan, Black Temple, Magtheridons Lair & Gruuls Lair.

One thing that's the same now as it was back in the day - I still hate hate hate the chess event in Karazhan. I'm just sayin'.

Meh

I've been doing some low-level questing and choosing mail-only quest rewards. It's been hit and miss, really. This set came in three colors that I saw while questing and I kept only the blue since it was the most complete. I can't really decide if I like it or not, but at least it matches the Tushui tabard I've been championing with.

Shoulders: Ironpatch Shoulderguards
Chest: Chestpiece of Returning Strength
Hands: Rusted-Link Spiked Gauntlets
Waist: Belt of Lingering Corruption
Legs: Sea Legs
Feet: Tsunami Boots
Bow: Houndmaster's Bow

Wakey Wakey!

And here's Nyssea, my Druid. I woke her up from her 4-year long hibernation, gave her a new 'do and mogged her into her full Defias set.
Shoulders: Forest Tracker Epaulets
Chest: Blackened Defias Armor
Hands: Blackened Defias Gloves
Waist: Blackened Defias Belt
Legs: Blackened Defias Leggings
Boots: Blackened Defias Boots
Weapon: Silver Spade

A Little Lock

Poor Maranet - she's been lvl 55 and wearing this same outfit since 2008 (*gasp* no transmog! I need to do something about those shoulders!).

Shoulders: Shadoweave Shoulders
Chest: Robe of Winter Night
Wrists: Firwillow Wristbands
Hands: Gloves of the Dune
Legs: Shadoweave Pants
Feet: Shadoweave Boots
